Frequently Asked Questions

Can I buy a panel separately?

This collection is sold only as a complete set of four: Plum, Orchid, Bamboo and Chrysanthemum. Individual panels are not sold separately.

What are the dimensions and weight?

Each panel measures 30 × 100 × 3 cm. The four-panel set weighs approximately 6,000 g net and 14,000 g with packaging.

Why are these plants called the Four Gentlemen?

In Chinese art, plum is admired for resilience, orchid for integrity and elegance, bamboo for upright character, and chrysanthemum for serenity. Together they are called the Four Gentlemen.

What do the vase compositions symbolize?

The Chinese word for vase sounds like the word for peace. Floral vase compositions often carry a wish for peace, paired here with the character ideals of the Four Gentlemen.

How are the flowers and vessels made?

Natural shell is cut, polished, carved and assembled into layered floral and vessel motifs. Its natural colors and grain become part of the composition.

Will every set have identical shell grain?

Natural shell varies in color, grain and luster. Hand polishing and assembly give each set its own details.

One-of-a-Kind, Created by Nature

Nature never creates two identical shells, and no two pieces share the exact same grain. The natural shell inlaid in each creation carries its own unique luster and story. Rather than mass-produced uniformity, you are holding a true unrepeatable original — crafted for your personal collection or as an unforgettable gift.
