Frequently Asked Questions

What does Smooth Sailing mean?

The image of a ship sailing with the wind expresses a Chinese wish for safe travels and things to go well. It is a thoughtful sentiment for someone beginning a journey, venture or new chapter.

How are the sails and waves made?

The sails, hull, waves and seabirds are carved and inlaid by hand from natural shell, creating visible depth. Each shell’s grain and luster give the composition its own details.

What are the dimensions, weight and contents?

The plate is approximately 25 cm in diameter and 3 cm thick. Net weight is about 800 g, or 1400 g with packaging. One shell art plate with the pictured stand is included.

Can it be used as a dinner plate?

This is an indoor decorative artwork, not tableware. Display it on a stable desk, entryway console or living room cabinet.

One-of-a-Kind, Created by Nature

Nature never creates two identical shells, and no two pieces share the exact same grain. The natural shell inlaid in each creation carries its own unique luster and story. Rather than mass-produced uniformity, you are holding a true unrepeatable original — crafted for your personal collection or as an unforgettable gift.
